Presentation Grade Hunting knife This model was next to the largest in the series and is a great skinning and general camp blade. This is only the second high speed steel HS Presentation Grade Hunting knife made by Gerber we have had to sell since we started in business in 1991. Not common as most where 440C stainless steel! If the knife is not marked with the HS it is stainless steel. Only models 475 and 525 have blade thickness of .187", as compared to the other blades at .156". If you are a fan of high speed steel get it before its gone. Only Gerber's most skilled master craftsman earned the right to make these knives. The Presentation Grade hunting knife series was Gerber's top of the line hunting knives until about 1995. There were five models starting with the smallest model 400, 425, 450, 475 and going up to the largest 525. Only Gerber's most skilled master craftsman earned the right to make these knives. They were almost custom hand made knives produced in a factory! Extra-strong blades are precision ground to a razor sharp, double-wedge shape and boast a super-hardness of Rockwell C60-62. Special industrial hard-chrome plating keeps these high speed tool steel blades bright and stainless through the demanding use for which this series was designed.
