Buck Frontiersman Bowie with black Micarta handle that is in near mint condition. It has light carry wear with several light scratches near the tip of the blade. It is model 124 with original black leather sheath and is 11-3/4" overall. The blade is 3/16" thick. It is marked BUCK 124 USA. This is the first version of the Frontiersman Bowie which was later replaced with the wood handle model with the same model number. The sheath is near mint with light wear otherwise is fine and original. Made 1972-1986. They have been out of production for years. Remember the wood handle came out after the black Micarta handle had stopped production. One of the first Buck Frontiersman Bowie! There where four black Micarta handled fixed blade knives that came out early in the Buck line. They where the top of the line for Buck at that time. They made up the presentation grade knives and where the Frontiersman Bowie model 124; Hunter's axe model 106; Kalinga hunting knife model 401 and Akonua hunting knife model 402. This group of knives came out 20 to 30 years ago.
