Small sword which is a Burmese dha with beautiful wood sheath. Genuine Ceremonial Gurkha Kukri or Gurkha Knife with original leather sheath. We only have one of each sword to sale.

A kukri (alternately spelled khukuri, khukri, kukhri, cookri, kookeri) is the traditional knife of the Kingdom of Nepal in the Himalayas. It has been the weapon and general-purpose tool of the Gurkhas since the Siege of Delhi in 1857 and before. The legendary Gurkhas fighters have used the knife with devastating effectiveness in the trenches of WWI France, throughout the New Guinea jungle in WWII, and with distinction in the Falkland Islands. The Gurkhas have served the British Army with great distinction since the early 1800s and fought in decisive battles in both World Wars.

For more information on Kukri knives read article by Hank Reinhardt titled "Curved Death The Legendary Knife of the Gurkha." The article is in the 15th Anniversary Best of Blade Magazine 1989.
