Jody Samson is the designer of both of these particular knives. Samson is one of the world's top master knife and sword makers and is most widely known for making the swords featured in the 1984 movie Conan the Barbarian staring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Les De Asis is founder of Bali-Song, Pacific Cutlery and now the leader of Benchmade Knives. Pacific Cutlery only existed from 1982 to 1987 in California. Before that it was Bali-Song which produced mostly Butterfly knives, afterwards it became Benchmade and moved to Oregon. Made in Japan and very high quality. You will be proud to own either one.
