Fight'n Rooster display four blade knife dated 1989 with white pearl handle. The knife has a mosaic white mother of pearl type handle and is 8-3/4" closed, in near mint condition with original box. It has not been sharpened but there are rubbed places where the blades have touched and they are minor. Made in an edition of 5 and this one is number 3 of the edition. All blade tangs are stamped - Frank Buster Celebrated Cutlery Solingen, Germany and it has three back springs. I think the scales are made up of small units of genuine mother of pearl that are inlaid to create a mosaic handle that is not common. The knife is massive, weighing a little over 2 pounds with brass frame and nickel silver bolsters. The pattern is like a regular stockman but over two times larger with four blades. The blades have etched wagon train, longhorn cattle, Indians, locomotive, oil derricks, eagle and more. For a sense of scale look at the two USA quarters 25¢ in the first photo below. There will not be any more knives made by Frank Buster the founder of Fight'n Rooster Knives because he passed away in July of 2007 and his son Sterling Buster oversees the operations of Fight'n Rooster today. We found a same size knife in the following book Fight'n Rooster Knives ~ Yesterday, Today Tomorrow A truly stunningly fine showpiece or exposition knife! Number 3 in an edition of only 5, made in 1989!
